Overall a very solid movie. It follows a family in a world where there are monsters that have a high sense of hearing and in order to avoid them you must be a quiet as possible. You quickly feel like you are in their world and become very engaged in the story. This is not a movie for a relaxed night out and don’t be surprised to be moving around in your seat. The story concept had a unique ring to it in the trailer and when friends would talk about it, but in the end I felt like the story as a whole was not as unique as I was hoping. With such a low budget film I was blown away with the quality of the visual effects. There were several exceptional acting moments that would give anyone goose bumps. Casting made for a very unique and genuine experience because the parent characters John Krasinski and Emily Blunt are married in real life. And to make it more interesting John Krasinski is the director. The production design was very well thought out and added a lot to the film and really took the movie to the next level.
